Streaming Setup & Equipment

I can control my tv and sound system with the Gemini remote, but I have to use the TCL and Bose remotes to turn on their respective systems first. Should the Gemini remote be able to turn on and off the TCL tv and Bose sound system??

Going to setup 2nd tv with Gemini Air setup. TV is fully built in, so Gemini device will be inside of cabinet. Will this setup work, or do I need an accesory for Gemini to be visible
