all of sudden my DirecTv remote will not turn my Sony TV off but it does turn it on

I want to add another box to my service in a garage or another dwelling that is about 100 feet away from my house. It’s the same address but a different building all in a remote location with no cellular service. What would be involved to get this done? Would the other dwelling need a separate dish

trying to set up a DIRECTV RC73 remote for an ATYME tv. Go through to set up procedure and when I get to program remote it shows that the tv is an Upstar. How do I get the mini genie to change to the right tv? which is the ATYME brand.
