using a Directv stream remote at a second home

Hi

We really like Directv streaming at our main house and my wife likes the Directv stream remote.    Does that remote only work with a set top box?    We have a second home and are using our 3 out of home network devices there.    But my wife would love it if one could use a Directv streaming remote like at our primary house.   Is it possible to do this?
