Still looking for an answer-extended play

I just came on this forum, looking for answers, as so many people are, to why DIRECTV does not allow for the option of adding 5 to 60 minutes when recording a show. As clearly stated multiple times this is an option available on practically every other available Satellite or streaming service. I’m just looking for a direct answer from “DIRECTV” on why they aren’t Offering a solution, which is clearly available to the masses.

I noted when I was researching that the “work around“ was to click on a live show while watching it and you will get the option of extending it for up to 30 minutes; however, the whole idea of recording is so that I don’t have to try and watch the show when it’s on. I am often not home or not available to watch the shows. I like when they are airing. Fall, winter, and early spring shows on all the major networks are preempted by a variety of sports events. This has been going on for years and the problem is not new. Nor is the solution. The solution is out there. I would appreciate a clear answer from an authorized spokesperson of DIRECTV.

While this feature exists on satellite equipment, it has never existed on the streaming service. Nobody here knows why, so you won't get an "official" answer. They rolled out a Band-Aid for some sports broadcasts to automatically extend recordings, but it's not foolproof.

Guess it's just not a high enough priority.

You're not going to get that here.

That's a shame.  It seems like such a basic feature, had it on satellite for years.
