It's just an app. If you can download it to your device, then it will work. The question is - who is your provider? As far as I aware, DirecTV is not a provider.

What do you mean "work with?"  Please explain your question further.

As of today, Directv Stream is a provider. Emails went out a couple of weeks ago about this. If you are a Dtv Stream subscriber with a Gemini device you get the ESPN unlimited, Hulu, Disney+ bundle free with ads. Dtv was supposed to send out an activation email today but that's been delayed. You can still login to the ESPN app. Just download the app and choose sign in with provider under app settings. On my Gemini devices---when I go to settings--account---add ons.....ESPN unlimited is there.

What about legacy DirecTV Stream customers like us (those who signed up before 4/13/2025) and have an old Osprey box?

It's my understanding that the "new" ESPN app is really just the same as the old one. The biggest change is that it receives *all* ESPN content, whether or not the TV subscription does.

In fact, someone might be able to download Disney+ and log in to that. It'll be all the Disney+ content (which includes ABC, National Geographic and a lot more "on demand" content) plus live ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN News, ESPN U, ACC Network, SEC Network and ESPN+.

@KiwiBird97 Did you get an email a couple of weeks ago from Dtv saying you would get the ad supported ESPN unlimited, Hulu, Disney+ bundle for free?  Either way, Go into your Osprey box --settings---account---add ons and see if ESPN unlimited is there. If so, download the ESPN app---then go into settings and connect tv provider.

@Bob60 check out the Insider article on this.  Emails are going out over the next several weeks to inform customers how to activate.  https://www.directv.com/insider/disney-plus/

Got signed in on one of the Osprey Boxes and was working. Will it auto the other boxes ? I have 3 total in the house. When I tried to use the other boxes, it was wanting me to sign in each of the boxes just like the first one, but then would not let me do it. It ask me for my Disney+ account sign in which is thru Hulu, could be a problem

You have to sign into each ESPN app. Both with tv provider and your MyDisney account. It's under the ESPN app settings Did you get an email activation link? If not--that could be the issue. Live chat Directv support and they'll send you one. The link they provide will link your MyDisney account with ESPN unlimited.

That's it. I just got the Gonna Get It email. I have not received the email activation link. I was just rushing it. I will now wait like a good lil boy.

Yeah it should work fine, I’ve been using the ESPN app with my DirecTV Stream login and it lets me watch without issues. Just make sure you sign in through the provider option.

You can live chat with them and they'll send you the activation email.  Otherwise you won't be able to watch ESPN plus content.

Maybe I'm missing something.  I got the e-mail today about ESPN.  I don't watch sports so I don't care about ESPN.  Is free access to DISNEY+ and HULU coming later?
