No sound after watching 4k program.

After watching a 4k program I lose all sound from other channels.I have a Samsung 75 inch model# QN75Q7DRAF, direct receiver model# C61K-700 & I use Sonos. All other streaming devices work fine when this happens. I have to shutdown all DIRECTV & TV devices for sound to return. Any information available would be much appreciated. Thank You 🙏

There have been other reports here about this issue. I'm not sure if it's specific to Sonos audio devices. How is the C61K connected to your Sonos? Is it connected to the TV first? What happens if you bypass the Sonos and use your TV's audio?

C61k connected directly to TV. TV is connected to Sonos.

Does the problem happen if using the TV's audio instead of the Sonos?

What happens if you connect the C61K to the Sonos as a test?

I had the same problem and discovered that activating LG 4K Deep Color for optimal 4K viewing caused audio loss on all regular Directv channels.  Sound returned when I turned off 4K Deep Color setting. LG G5 TV with HR24 input to HDMI 1 and C61 client input to HDMI 4. Audio loss from HR24 only as it cannot handle the higher bandwidth.

@cslederman

This thread's issue happens after watching a 4K program.

The HR24 is the last regular HDDVR. The C61 is a regular Mini Genie Client. Neither of those have access to 4K programming. If you are getting 4K channels, I would recheck your model numbers.

As this thread is almost 3 years old (Jan 2023) I would suggest starting a fresh thread to avoid confusion with a different situation or joining a discussion with possible outdated info.
