HR24-500
Remote not working properly. Purchased new univeral remote, entered TV code off list w new remote and on off volume all work. On list for digital tuners many listings including Dish Network and Echostar but nothing for DirecTV. Maybe need the manufacturer of the HR24-500. Anyone know who made this unit? Or is an official DirecTV remote needed to control their boxes?

Most TV remotes don't have codes for DTV receivers, DTV remotes are cheaper online.

What "universal remote"? All DirecTV boxes use the same infrared code set.
