For those with FWA (like T-Mobile 5G Home or Verizon 5G Home) how does DirecTV Stream work for you?

I’ve been doing some research around (have satellite but plan to switch to Stream) and I’ve heard there’s a few issues with FWA services and DirecTV Stream including constantly changing IP addresses messing with the amount of streams you can have on one account. As well as my geolocation being in other places etc.

Has anyone else run into this? I use Verizon 5G Home Internet for my house since cable and fiber aren’t available.

This is definitely an issue. Without a static IP ( your IP address is constant), DIRECTV STREAM has no way of ensuring that you are in your home location. Therefore, as the IP address keeps changing, you’ll be given an error on a streaming device that you aren’t in your home network. Currently, DIRECTV STREAM only allows 4 location ‘changes’ every year so after your IP address keeps changing you are eventually stuck.

Every time I run out of times to switch back to my home network because of the static ip address situation with virizon internet I have to call you guys for help. Sometimes I get a customer service agent that doesn't understand the situation and doesnt want to help and assumes Im doing something else. This is a hassle. There has got to be a better way to locate the home network for people using this internet. This is not fair to a customer paying over $120 a month to go through this time and time again.

Unfortunately there is no better way at this time. In fact when you call you are lucky if they can override the 4 times as it supposed to up to the system, not up to an agent to do a workaround. It is a long standing issue that currently has no solution in site, unless your ISP can give you a static IP.

Side not, you are not calling us. This is a public forum of other customers, not official support.

If you don't restart your T-Mobile gateway --your IP won't change. T-Mobile works fine for me but I rarely restart my internet gateway. You get 4 IP changes per year.
