Current Situation with Starlink and DirecTV Stream

We have a sticks-and-bricks home where we have our DirecTV "Home".

But we travel in our RV and want to use Starlink for Internet access via ROKU and the DirecTV app.  And we never declare our temporary location as our new HOME location.

I worry that we might run into an issue with Starlink IP addresses constantly changing and DirecTV restriction about 4 IP address changes per year.

As I have mentioned we DON'T change our "HOME" when we travel and but we do want access to the DirecTV DVR as we record almost all our shows.

Am I going to run into a problem because of Starlinks constantly changing IP address?

We stream in our RV with a Roku Streambar. No need to change locations when traveling or while at home where we use DirecTV streaming boxes.

We travel in an RV using Starlink and DirecTV Stream. Never had an issue.

Litzdog911 - thank you for your response.  Can I ask, do you use the Gemini box?  If not, what do you use for the DirecTV app?

When you are away from your home in your RV, do you change your DirecTV Home location?

@litzdog911

What about if I was to switch to Starlink full time at home,I use multiple streams.   Will the rolling IP address from Starlink become an issue?  From my understanding it is a huge problem.   I use my phone and iPad a lot when I leave home and someone may still be using the home connection.  I use Fire Sticks and Roku at home as well, I can easily have 4 streams going at one time.

Yes, Starlink's IP address changes can cause issues with the number of streams. It's an often-posted issue here.

Any possibility that they are looking for a fix from their side?

Who knows. Doubtful. DirecTV Stream has never had good luck with ISPs that frequently change your IP address. It's one of the ways they detect if you're at home or not.

If you don't need more than 3 streams, frequently changing IP's are not an issue.

I can use 4-5 pretty easily just at the house, we are sports nuts.  Hopefully they can do something about this in the future.   I have thought about trying a VPN also, not sure if that is a long term solution.

A VPN will not work. In fact, if they detect the use, they can suspend your account. Use is disclosed the T&C.
