Series Manager issues

I have been having an issue with Series Manager not recording "My Teams" automatically.  Up until a few months ago, teams that I designated as My Teams in the various sports packages (MLB, NBA, NHL) would record without any intervention on my part.  Several months ago, Series Manager stopped recording my preferred teams and I must now manually record the games. As you can imagine, I forget from time to time to record a game and miss out which is infuriating.  I have called customer service several times and it is abundantly clear that no one in the support organization has a clue on what to do about this issue.  

Is there an explanation for why Series Manager no longer records "My Teams" and what, if anything, can I do to resolve this issue?

Hello @geno4255, we're here to help with your recording issue.

There's a workaround that may do the trick and fix this, all you'd need to do is go to series manager. (Menu > recordings > View Playlist > Manage recordings > series manager). Find the show(s) you want - if it is listed as "all channels" delete it (and any other entries) from the list. Go to the Guide and find the show and set up to record "first runs only".

Finally go back into Series Manager - find the show - confirm it says to record on the channel you want. It should be at the bottom of the list - use arrow keys on the right to move up.

Menu > Recordings > View playlist > Manage recordings > Series manager.

Thanks for the quick response but I think my issue is different from the one you are addressing.  My issue relates solely to sports programming (specifically, NBA, NHL and MLB packages).  For some reason, none of the paid sports packages seem to record "My Teams".  I set up the teams I selected to auto record and, until recently, the games recorded without any manual intervention,  Sometime in the past several months, my DVR stopped automatically recording paid sports programming. I must manually set up the recordings if I want to record the games.

Thank you for the details, @geno4255.

An alternative to address the issue is to Refresh your DIRECTV service and equipment.


After doing that you can attempt to also restart your receiver by unplugging the receiver from the power outlet during 15 seconds and then plug it in again.
