You can use the older satellite DIRECTV peanut shaped remote with it so long as you are in IR mode. Only thing you lose is voice control.

The RC7X remotes should work in RF.

Since the Gemini uses Bluetooth the DTV streaming version software may not have the RF enabled where the DTV sat version does. The RC8X remotes use all three IR,RF and Bluetooth.

They have to do something with this new REMOTE LIGHTING The light doesn't stay on long enough or bright enough to see what button to push very very annoying not good at all. As soon as you pick up the remote, the light should go on. Nobody watches TV with 42,000 lights on so you can see it.LOL FIX IT NOW
