I need to know what type of pole is used by directv install technicians. I need a longer pole than the 6 ft ones that installers use. Please advise quickly. I need to purchase in next couple days.

Depends what dish you have.
The current standard is
DirecTV Ground Pole Mount 2" OD, 72" Long,16 GA
