Why am I losing 4 movie channels from my package?
Why am I losing 4 movie channels from my package with no corresponding drop in the price I'm paying? (Channels 507, 508, 521, 522)

What channels are available are subject to change at any time. There is no guaranteed price adjustment for it, nor is one obligated.
Also likely means HBO is not lowering the cost they require to be paid for their pack. As such DirecTV couldn't change it per that restriction.

Because HBO decided to downsize their number of channels in the offering. DIRECTV cannot provide to you what HBO no longer provides to it.

Got it.
"Bend over and accept it." Thanks DirecTV.

You agreed to it per the TOS you signed when it was installed.

What channels are available can change at anytime. Unfortunately, it is expected per contractual obligations that DirecTV is not allowed by HBO to lower the price. So your "thanks" should go to HBO as well at the very least.
That being said, if HBO keeps their channel count reduced, which means less content provided simultaneously as opposed to a large variety of channels, that should be a point addressed when it is time for DirecTV to renegotiate the carriage agreement with HBO (or perhaps able to affect the next annual price adjustment if we are lucky).
If you cannot wait for that price adjustment or the next time those two negotiate, then just remove the pack. It is optional, so it is up to you to accept it or not.

Keep in mind that, in 2025, the subscription is for HBO Max which includes much, much more than linear HBO channels ever could.
Any linear channels are a bonus. I highly suggest watching HBO Max and only using the linear channels to record favorite movies/shows, since movies and shows can disappear from HBO Max at any time (usually the end of the month) due to licensing.
I've had HBO Max without channels since 5/27/2020 and don't miss the channels at all.

@Juniper
I doubt that will happen since the owners of HBO and Cinemax are including HBO Max in the same subscription cost.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the language is moreso for "HBO Max and whatever linear channels we offer that the TV provider chooses to carry". In the U-Verse account manager, I believe the subscription actually says HBO Max. I think the same is true with Hulu, YouTube TV and various other providers. "Add HBO Max for __cost here_." It may be free due to a promo, etc.
Sidenote: I wouldn't be surprised for Paramount to do similar with Paramount+ now that any subscription to linear Showtime channels includes full access to Paramount+ (limited commercials in archives, live CBS and Showtime programming). I get Paramount+ Premium and have zero need to subscribe to Showtime since it'd be redundant.
