END OF SATELLITE

Doubt it, DTV isn't going to lose millions of dollars from building and launching their new sats a few years ago.  DTV has been trying to buy Dish.

DirecTV didn't back out. They made an offer, that Dish appeared to accept, but then Dish's shareholders said no and it fell through.

Whether they try again later remains to be seen.

Yes, but i doubt everyone is going to want to go fully to streaming. Would they push satellite accounts to transition ? 

Not all of the US has internet let alone broadband internet so until that happens DTV/Dish will be around.  More likely your DTV account will be canceled then you will have to decide what streaming services your ISP can provide. 

I am just hoping DIRECTV keeps satellite around for the next few years.

If you're on satellite now, I wouldn't worry about anything for the time being. You'll be good to go for a good while yet.

I would expect DirecTV to start more aggressively advertising their streaming option in major cities.

If you call in for promotions, technical support or whatnot, it might be fair to expect representatives to offer better discounts if you switch from satellite to streaming.

"We can give you $20/mo off your current satellite plan OR we can save you $30/mo off a similar streaming plan AND give you two free premium services like Max or Paramount+ for three months."

It was a few years ago when DirecTV said they wouldn't launch any new ones and then they went ahead and did so.

The HS17 has been out for a few years now so I expect them to release a new one, as for clients the C71KW  is only maybe 5 or 6 years old so to soon for a new one.

I will say that having an AIM meter is one of the best things if you don’t want to pay for a technician visit. Takes me 10 mins to get my signal to 100% on all satellites. lol 

Strange, as in most cases the 99 and 103 sats don't usually get into the 90s range.  While hard to read the built in meter is just as good.

Well I get 100% on 101 and then around 95-97 on 99a/b and 103 a/b about as good as it can get. My apartment is on the third floor. No way I could use the built in meter lol
